FAMILY QUILT
What is a Family Quilt?
A Family Quilt is made up of any thing that is special to the family.
In this instance, you will find the old house the family was in, the new house they moved to and their cottage in the Muskokas. You will find representations of some of the hobbies and sports the familky members enjoy: bicycling, swimming, snowboarding, fishing, piano playing and singing. The Mom's job is represented by the blocks and dice: she uses these to teach the kindergarden children to count and read. Remnants from some of Mom's sewing preojects were used. So is her wedding dress! And a piece of her family plaid. The quilt has 3D clouds and even Dad's baby booties as well the 2 boys'.
Dad used to motorcycle and still bicycles a lot. One of his older cycling shorts is in the quilt. Medals and other bits are all attached.
The quilt now hangs in their staircase. It measures over 6f X 8f.
And it recently won 1st prize in an International Contest with 43 other contestants!

The owneers supplied pictures of their homes and cottage as well as of the motorcycle and the swimming cliff. Actual skate eyelets were used to thread the real hockey skate laces.
