There is a large variety of Highland dancing costumes, ranging from the traditional plaid wraps over a black or white skirt to the more elaborate celtic knot designs now used.

At right: the Mayor and his Wife in a Christmas Pageant. What you cannot see here, is the Wife's bonnet has a peak as long as the Mayor's pipe is on his Top Hat!
