Sewing Lessons:

Do you wish you could repair or alter your clothes so they fit better? Would you like to know how to make your own clothes, to wear more unique outfits? or Hallowe'en costumes? I can teach you the basics or more advanced techniques if you already sew. Learn finishing techniques, by hand and by machine and how to do basic sewing machine maintenance. I offer classes for one to three people at once, for more individual attention. Scheduling is flexible, days or evenings, one or two hours per session. $25/hour for one person; $20/hour each for two people and $15/hour each for three people. A 10% discount is given for booking and pre-paying for 8 hours of lessons (can be done by PayPal), whether taken in one- or in 2-hour sessions. Medieval Presentations:

Hear Ye! The teachers at Bell's Corners Public School would like to let you know about an invaluable presentation.
Medieval Costume presentations by designer and fashion historian Roxane Kirkman are one of the most interesting ways to bring the Middle Ages alive for your Grade 4 students. A student of fashion, Ms. Kirkman brings the history of the times alive with costumes which take you on a visual tour of the Middle Ages from Peasant to King! Presentations, usually running a minimum 60 minutes can be arranged for single classes or larger groups. Lengthier presentations may be booked. Presentations including a lesson on how to make their own costumes for the "Banquet" are also possible. Teachers may rent a costume for the presentation or the term-end banquet. Fees for presentations begin at $100, within the City of Ottawa; a travel fee is added to locations outside the City.
